About the Role:


We are looking for an experienced SAP Payroll Consultant to join our team in Burbank, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in US payroll systems, tax management, and SAP HR modules. You will work directly with clients to implement, configure, and maintain SAP payroll solutions, ensuring seamless integration with financial systems and third-party applications. This is a critical, hands-on role that requires both technical proficiency and strong communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:


Payroll and Tax Configuration:

  • Lead the end-to-end configuration of US payroll systems, including payroll schemas, rules, and wage type setups.
  • Expertise in BSI Tax Factory configuration, maintenance, and Tax Update Bulletin (TUB) application and testing.
  • Configure and maintain garnishments and benefit integrations with payroll systems.
  • Manage direct deposit, check configurations, and payment models, ensuring accurate taxability setups.
  • Implement and test HR service packs to maintain compliance and optimize payroll processing.

Integration and Financial Posting:

  • Ensure accurate and efficient payroll posting to finance systems, aligning with corporate financial processes.
  • Integrate and interface third-party vendor solutions with SAP Payroll, ensuring seamless data flow and process alignment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and resolve issues related to configuration, development, data, and processes in production support environments.

Time Management:

  • Implement and support both positive and negative time management solutions, including schema updates.
  • Configure and test Time Evaluation processes to accurately capture and report employee working hours.
  • Manage year-end testing, including Legal Notes application, to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

System Optimization and Continuous Improvement:

  • Conduct regular reviews and optimizations of Remuneration Statements, ensuring accurate and transparent payroll reporting.
  • Support ongoing system improvements, including the rollout of new features, patches, and process enhancements.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for SAP payroll configuration, process optimization, and system maintenance.


Required Skills and Experience:


  • Technical Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of US Payroll systems, tax regulations, and SAP payroll schemas.
  • Extensive experience with BSI Tax Factory configuration and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of wage type setups, including payment models and taxability configurations.
  • At least two full lifecycle US Payroll implementations, from requirements gathering to post-go-live support.
  • Integration Skills:
  • Proven experience integrating and interfacing third-party vendors with SAP Payroll systems.
  • Time Management:
  • Expertise in positive and negative time management, including schema updates and time evaluation.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving payroll issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work directly with clients.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in high-volume production support environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial posting processes in payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of Legal Notes application and year-end payroll testing.
