SAP FICO Functional Lead

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced SAP FICO Functional Lead to manage and drive functional activities across SAP AMS operations, deployments, and enhancement projects. This role involves leading a team of SAP consultants, coordinating change management, ensuring timely incident resolution, and engaging with key stakeholders to deliver high-quality FICO solutions in a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Functional Oversight
  • Lead and allocate team members across various functional streams: production support, change request delivery, deployments, testing, and performance improvements.
  • Assign clear accountability and KPIs to sub-leads, driving a high-performance culture focused on results and SLA compliance.
  • Provide guidance in interpreting business requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
  • AMS and Production Support Management
  • Oversee daily AMS operations for SAP FICO, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and root cause analysis of recurring issues.
  • Act as the escalation point for critical incidents, ensuring minimal business disruption and efficient service recovery.
  • Implement best practices for ticket handling, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Change & Release Management
  • Lead the end-to-end process of change request (CR) assessments, approvals via CCB/CRB, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness in Functional Design Specifications (FDS), test cases, and RT TCER documentation.
  • Coordinate regression testing and post-deployment validation to maintain system integrity.
  • Deployment & Site Support
  • Coordinate deployment readiness and support activities across sites, including command centre setup, data validation, and issue triaging during go-live.
  • Monitor progress of Wave 2 and subsequent rollouts, aligning timelines and deliverables across cross-functional teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Collaborate closely with business users, finance leads, and senior stakeholders (e.g., CFOs) to ensure alignment of FICO processes with business goals.
  • Facilitate functional workshops, design sessions, and regular update meetings with external/internal partners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in SAP FICO with at least 3 years in a functional lead or team lead capacity.
  • Strong understanding of core FICO components: GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Banking, Cost Center Accounting, and Integration with MM/SD.
  • Proven experience in AMS operations and production support in large-scale SAP environments.
  • Skilled in delegation, KPI tracking, and performance management of functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior finance leaders.
  • Experienced in writing FDS documents, executing test cycles, and managing deployments.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with SAP BRIM, SAP FICA, or implementation in healthcare industry is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and SAP Solution Manager.
