Under the lead of the Deputy Head of the SAP Competency Center, the SAP CC Senior Manager is responsible of the following:
Support of the One GL platform maintenance and evolution and Finance projects lead with the Core SAP GL solutions
Effective contrition to management of the SAP Competency Center SMEs (internal and external)
Ensure & monitor Business as Usual high-level support for 1GL maintenance, evolutions & user support with high quality service
Project estimation and management of Finance projects and applications integration
The SAP Competency Center
Our customer is an independent company in the bank-finance-insurance sector, working on a global scale through its 35 locations on five continents and its 4 Hubs located in Paris-London, Zurich-Cologne, New York, and Singapore.
Financial department is organized between the 4 hubs and 3 divisions.
The Group Finance SAP Competency Center team is located in Paris (8 internals), Zurich (2 internals) and New York (1 internal) and also manages around 60 external consultants (onsite and/or nearshore).
The Group Finance SAP Competency Center mandate is mainly to:
Maintain the “1GL” applications (enhancement and maintenance): SAP S/4 + addons, EPM, Analytics incl. reporting solutions and interfaces
Monitor and execute SAP Basis activities (excl. OS and Infra management)
Manage projects for evolutions and reengineering initiatives
Provide management, analytical and operational capabilities within a unified and best-practices oriented Finance Platform
Secure Finance platform integrity and operability
Ensure process maintenance & evolution through all chain of activities
Support projects and innovation
Support Finance community at large
Implement robust, proven, and certified technologies only
Monitor and increase operational excellence, efficiency & response time
Maximize agility and flexibility, time to market, scalability, and user empowerment
Increase automated controls and monitoring of the platform
Key Duties And Responsibilities
The position reports to the Deputy Head of SAP CC.
The primary responsibilities are:
Providing support, guidance and expertise for the SAP Competency Center Accounting Solutions projects at large. Accounting solutions include SAP S/4 (FI-GL, AA, AP&AR, CFM, TRM, MM, CO) as well as Ariba, Readsoft and Concur.
Ensuring the maintenance in operational conditions of the Core 1GL solution by:
Coordinating BAU activities with evolutions and projects delivery
Assisting teams when needed and provide expertise
Ensuring a 360° vision of ongoing activities on Core SAP Accounting Solutions scope to anticipate and monitor potential conflicts – propose action plans if needed
Managing Finance process definition and system customization
Ensuring the documentation maintenance as projects and evolutions are delivered
Project estimation and management of initiatives from simple to very complex
Advertise excellence through improving the operational excellence of the department
Mitigate risk with experts’ availability (grow and shrink management)
The position will also require to:
Communicate, educate, and help market SAP 1GL to the business and IT leads within the organization
Assist in arbitrating, escalating, and resolving any project or Business As Usual related issues
Be customer oriented with a strong reliability on deadlines
Member of the following committees: e.g. Audit committee, Investment committee…

Required Experience & Competencies
Experience:
Strong experience in SAP project implementation & solution maintenance – preferably within consulting companies or banking/insurance industry of 15+ years
Ability to understand both business and technology drivers and challenges
Proven project management skills for both tools and methodologies
Strong knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles to support the internal Finance community at large
Experience of working in a global environment / global SAP Competency Center
Ability to drive highly skilled experts and provide a clear roadmap
Technologies oriented: SAP ERP modern platforms (i.e S/4HANA) and global SAP ecosystem roadmaps
Ability to communicate & write in French and English
