Job Description :

The SAP Basis Engineer (Post-Migration) is responsible for ensuring the successful maintenance and operation of both legacy SAP ECC systems and newly migrated SAP S/4HANA systems across both on-premise and cloud environments. This role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ensuring high availability and reliability of the SAP landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Maintenance and Support: Monitor and manage the day-to-day operations of both legacy ECC and S/4HANA systems. Perform regular system checks, backups, and recovery procedures. Address and resolve issues related to system performance, availability, and security. Migration Management: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of the migration process from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. Ensure seamless integration between legacy and new systems, including data migration and configuration. Provide technical expertise during the migration phase, addressing any specific challenges or issues that arise.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize system performance for both ECC and S/4HANA environments.
• Implement tuning strategies to enhance system responsiveness and reduce downtime. Monitor system metrics and make recommendations for improvement based on real-time data.
• Security Management: Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. Implement and enforce security policies and controls within the SAP environment. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Documentation and Training: Document system configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide training to end-users and other stakeholders on how to effectively use the new SAP systems.
• Update documentation as necessary to reflect changes in the system landscape.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and IT management. Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Participate in meetings and discussions to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Required Skills:

• SAP Knowledge: Proficient understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA architectures. Experience with SAP Basis components such as ABAP, RFC, and SAP GUI.
• Familiarity with SAP NetWeaver and its various modules.
• Migration Expertise: Strong experience in migrating SAP applications from ECC to S/4HANA. Understanding of the migration tools and processes provided by SAP (e.g., Migration Cockpit). Ability to handle large-scale data migrations and ensure data integrity.
• Performance Tuning: Knowledge of performance tuning techniques for SAP systems. Experience with SAP system scaling and load balancing.
• Understanding of database optimization techniques for both ECC and HANA databases. Security Practices: Compliance with ISO 27001 and other relevant security standards. Experience with implementing and managing SAP security features.
• Knowledge of security best practices and threat modeling. Cloud Experience: Experience with SAP S/4HANA on AWS, Azure, or other public clouds. Understanding of cloud-specific SAP services and integrations.
• Knowledge of cloud security models and compliance frameworks.
• Technical Documentation: Strong ability to document complex technical processes and systems.
• Experience with creating user manuals and training materials. Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
