Position Description Summary

The Application Developer will support existing financial, ERP, and loss prevention systems. This includes, but is not limited to, application support & admin, system design, system development, and implementation of changes as required for the application and any interfaces to other systems. This individual will be part of the Application Development team and will work with both IT and business users.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement system enhancements that deliver on business needs and technical requirements.
• Create design and technical specifications and create comprehensive documentation, to include support documentation.
• Work directly with internal and external IT teams to develop/deploy integration between multiple platforms, to include on-prem and SAAS based systems while incorporating ETL methods.
• Participate in meetings with the business and or IT as required
• Provide 24x7 production support to include monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving application / ETL process issues and addressing and answering user based questions and/or issues.
• Follow ITIL standards and best practices
  
  

Position Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent education is required
• Retail IT experience is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the following:
• supporting Microsoft Great Plains
• working with AIX/Linux/Unix environments
• application development experience
• Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) Processes
• working with SQL
• Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and newer, as well as Oracle 9i
• Demonstrated experience working with API’s
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written are required
• Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate ability to learn new technologies quickly
