ABAP Developer Job Summary The SAP Development team is seeking an ABAP Developer for developing and supporting WRICEF objects for SAP Global Instance. This position requires hands on knowledge of the ABAP programming language, as well as the ability to work within cross-functional teams from different businesses and various countries in a complex organization with differences in language, culture and time zones. While the primary focus for this position will be ABAP development, there is potential that the position will be involved in other activities within the application portfolio including support, deployment, and value realization. Responsibilities Collaborate with process teams and system owners in understanding requirements to develop robust and complete technical specifications. Work with business process owners to develop ABAP code and troubleshoot issues. Design solutions in accordance with standard design principles and conventions. Work within Agile frameworks, participate in sprint planning, and provide regular updates on their progress Adopt best practices in all aspects of ABAP development. Create and Maintain documentation on all development objects. Escalate cross functional issues and/or significant technical challenges as appropriate. Research issues on OSS, SCN forums and apply Manual OSS Notes Provide advice and guidance on client standards and best practice and development techniques Problem solving issues and providing timely responses and solutions as required. Executing unit test procedures and scenarios to ensure meeting requirements. Supporting the Operational Teams during the UAT and rollout phases Participate in crisis meetings with cross functional IT team to resolve critical application issues. Investigate application issues to determine root cause. Communicate and work with support users as necessary to resolve application errors Seek opportunities to develop and maintain knowledge of business processes, application functionality, configuration and administrative activities Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution Minimum of 5 years of recent SAP ABAP development experience Preferred Qualifications Fast learning and well-developed analytical thinking, design thinking and problem solving skills Experience in working in global environment SAP Certified Development Professional – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or later Strong technical skills in all areas of the ABAP workbench including List, interactive, & ALV reporting; BAPIs and BDC scripts; Adobe Forms, SMART Forms, SAP Script; Dialog Programming; User-Exits & Customer Enhancements; IDOC; Performance Tuning; ABAP Objects; Workflow; Analyzing ABAP logs/dumps; Researching SAP Notes; Odata and BRF+ Should be skilled in ABAP debugging, ATC and SLIN checks Development experience with SAP modules – EWM, GTS, TM, SD, FI, CO, MM, PP, QM, CRM Development experience in Fiori, SAP UI5 Programming, SAP ODATA and SAP WebIDE Must have the ability to work with limited supervision and exhibit a strong sense of urgency Strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and resolution skills with an emphasis on Advanced ABAP debugger skills to support quick turnaround of analysis and issue resolution. In-depth knowledge of SAP IDOC/ALE and EDI integrations. Recent experience in Object Oriented ABAP Programming Workflow development experience.
