Overview

The SAP ABAP Consultant plays a crucial role in the implementation and support of SAP solutions within the organization. This position requires a blend of technical and functional expertise to effectively design, develop, and enhance applications on the SAP platform. The consultant will customize and extend SAP applications to meet business requirements, ensure optimal performance, and adhere to best practices. The role is vital for ensuring that the systems align with organizational goals and providing users with efficient and effective tools to manage their tasks. With a focus on integrating advanced technologies, the SAP ABAP Consultant contributes significantly to improving operational efficiency, facilitating strategic initiatives, and ensuring user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ABAP programs and applications.
• Work closely with functional consultants to gather and analyze business requirements.
• Create technical specifications based on functional specifications.
• Enhance existing SAP applications using user exits and enhancement framework.
• Develop and modify reports, interfaces, and conversions.
• Implement Data Dictionary objects such as tables, views, and indexes.
• Utilize debugging tools effectively to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Conduct performance tuning on ABAP programs to enhance system efficiency.
• Participate in system upgrades and migration projects.
• Provide support during user acceptance testing and training sessions.
• Prepare documentation of technical designs and user manuals.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ABAP development.
• Experience with SAP ECC and S/4HANA systems.
• Strong knowledge of SAP modules like MM, SD, and FI.
• Proficiency in SAP Data Dictionary and ABAP Workbench.
• Familiarity with ALV reporting and Smart Forms.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming in ABAP.
• Experience with integrating SAP with non-SAP applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of SAP Fiori and UI5 is a plus.
