Summary

The Role:


The Sales Representative is responsible for servicing the current customers and recruiting new customers from the unstructured general trade, especially from the fruit and vegetable distribution channels. The individual will be given a specific territory to manage and a revenue target that needs to be achieved along with key KPIs of which New Outlet Opening will be the most important. The role will report directly to the sales manager.



Key Duties & Responsibilities


-       Achieve the set Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Sales Revenue Targets.

-       Drive sales growth among the current customers by regular sales visits and addressing issues and concerns of the customers.

-       Based on the customer profile, drive range sales and develop product segments that the customer specializes in.

-       Develop and maintain strong relationships with the existing primary customer base. In the case of wholesalers and traders understand their secondary customers and implement plans to increase sell-out to their secondary customers.

-       Immediately resolve any issues about the product or orders at an outlet level, and address customer concerns and objections.

-       Coordinate with the delivery teams to ensure that customer orders are delivered on time and in full and settlements are done on time.

-       Develop channels and outlets that are currently not serviced but are in the designed territory.

-       Provide customer feedback and communicate with the management regarding market opportunities and obtain services from the corporate teams to unlock such market opportunities.




Competencies / Special Attributes Required


-       Strong interpersonal skills. Requires a mix of verbal and written communication skills. Persuasive and listening skills with customer empathy and tenacity.


-       Ability to develop relationships with different types of customers. i.e. wholesalers, retailers, fruit and vegetable vendors. Requires to be skilled at building, nurturing, and in some cases, sustaining long-term relationships.


-       Ability to work with distributors and influence and work with them to develop customers in the territory.


-       Negotiation skills. Strong ability to handle objections and concerns from customers and being able to deal with problems at an early stage.


-       Disciplined and a self-starter, with the ability to identify issues and opportunities and have the inclination to take the initiative to address issues with a sense of urgency.  


-       Honest, ethical, and dependable with the ability to work in the field for long hours

 

-       Good written & verbal communication skills in English & ability to communicate professionally

 

-       Basic knowledge in the use of computers, particularly MS Office


-       Multi-task and adhere to deadlines and an excellent team player


-       Outgoing pleasing personality


-       Possess a valid riding license and owns his motorbike.



Educational / Professional Qualifications

-       GCE A/L

-       Diploma in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage

-       Full or part qualification from an established body on Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage



Experience Required

-       Minimum of 02 years experience working in a Sales Position, with exposure to General Trade

-       Any experience in dealing with Agri products would be a definite advantage.
