Sales Manager – Public Sector

Location: Remote – Based in California


TalentAmp is seeking an experienced Sales Manager with a strong background in public sector sales for one of our clients in California. This is an ideal opportunity for a sales leader with a proven track record of closing large IT consulting deals, particularly within the California State and Local Government sector.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end sales process for large-scale deals, collaborating with client leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Own the entire sales lifecycle, from opportunity origination through to deal closure.
  • Act as the primary client-facing representative, responsible for individual pipeline management and meeting sales targets.
  • Implement and enforce sales methodologies designed to improve win rates across State and Local government accounts.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, craft client messaging, build strong relationships, and apply industry-leading transformation practices.
  • Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to drive success.


Job Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in closing large deals within the California public sector.
  • 5+ years of experience in originating and securing large IT consulting service deals exceeding $10 million.
  • 5+ years in client-facing sales leadership roles, ideally within IT consulting.
  • Established trust-based relationships with California State and Local agencies.
  • Proven experience in IT sales or consulting within the public sector.
  • Strong understanding of emerging IT and business trends and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to present complex solutions clearly.
  • Strong leadership, relationship-building, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build internal support to drive client sales initiatives.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of energy and urgency to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and negotiation skills.
