Our client is a leader in providing temperature-controlled supply chain solutions for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences industries.


Position Overview:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving our client’s market entry and business development strategy in Japan. This includes developing a comprehensive understanding of the local market, identifying potential clients, building key relationships with stakeholders, and ultimately establishing our client as a trusted partner in temperature-controlled logistics.


This role demands a proactive sales leader who can take ownership of the Japan market and contribute to our client’s growth strategy in the APAC region.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Market Development: Lead efforts to open and establish our client’s presence in the Japanese market. Understand the local logistics and pharmaceutical industries to tailor solutions to market needs.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive new business, increase market share, and meet revenue targets.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and logistics sectors.
  • Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging local market knowledge to attract prospects and convert them into customers.
  • Sales Execution: Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, including contract negotiation and post-sale follow-up.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the global sales team and other departments to align marketing, sales, and customer service efforts with the Japan market needs.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in Japan’s pharmaceutical and logistics industries. Provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Provide regular reports on sales activities, market trends, and key performance metrics. Achieve sales targets and maintain pipeline accuracy.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical, logistics, or supply chain industry, with a strong track record of success in business development and sales growth, ideally in Japan.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in both Japanese and English is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of temperature-controlled logistics, life sciences, and the pharmaceutical supply chain in Japan.
  • Sales Skills: Proven ability to lead sales initiatives, manage accounts, negotiate contracts, and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Cultural Acumen: Knowledge of Japanese business culture and the ability to navigate local market dynamics.
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, autonomous, and results-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
