About SearchEye
SearchEye is an AI-powered public relations (PR) platform. Our mission is to help brands and agencies secure high-impact media placements through intelligent automation and a vast publisher network.
SearchEye’s flagship product – the AI PR Co-Pilot – automates personalized outreach strategies, precisely targets the right publishers, and crafts compelling pitches to land placements on premium publications. This innovative approach enables agencies (and the brands they represent) to gain valuable backlinks and media mentions while saving thousands of dollars per month (even tens of thousands) compared to traditional PR outreach methods.
As a fast-growing startup, SearchEye is transforming how companies boost their online visibility and reputation, and we’re looking for passionate team members to help us accelerate that growth.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Sales Executive to drive new business and platform adoption among marketing agencies. In this hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote), you will spearhead outbound sales efforts focused on SEO, marketing, and PR agencies that serve the legal industry (our key client segment). You’ll be responsible for prospecting and engaging potential clients, scheduling product demos, and guiding them through the sales cycle to closure. This role is based out of our Liberty Village, Toronto office, and you’ll work closely with our founding team to refine sales strategies and messaging.
This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated self-starter early in their sales career (approximately 1–2 years of experience). You will own the outbound lead generation process and have significant autonomy in building your pipeline. As an early member of the sales team, you’ll have a tangible impact on company growth and the chance to grow into a leadership role over time. We offer equity in the business, so you’ll share in SearchEye’s success as you help expand our client base and drive adoption of our AI PR Co-Pilot platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Outbound Prospecting: Conduct high-volume cold calling, email outreach, and diligent follow-ups to introduce SearchEye’s offerings to prospective agency clients.
- Lead Generation & Meeting Booking: Identify and qualify leads within our target market (SEO/marketing/PR agencies in the legal space). Proactively book discovery calls and product demos with decision-makers at those agencies to showcase how SearchEye can elevate their PR results.
- Sales Presentations: Effectively present SearchEye’s AI PR Co-Pilot via phone and video meetings. Clearly communicate the value proposition – including how we automate PR outreach and save agencies time and money – and tailor your pitch to each prospect’s needs.
- Pipeline Management: Stay organized using CRM tools to track leads, opportunities, and follow-up activities. Maintain up-to-date records of all communications and next steps. (Experience with a CRM like Salesforce or HubSpot is a plus.)
- Negotiate & Close Deals: Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to agreement. Overcome objections, negotiate terms, and work to convert interested prospects into paying customers.
- Drive Adoption: Once deals are closed, collaborate with clients to ensure a smooth handoff and onboarding onto the platform. Encourage new customers to actively use SearchEye’s tools so they see results quickly, driving long-term adoption and satisfaction.
- Feedback & Collaboration: Provide feedback to the SearchEye team on what you’re hearing in the market. Help refine our sales approach and marketing messaging by sharing insights from your conversations with prospects and clients.
- Meet Targets: Consistently meet or exceed your sales KPIs (e.g. number of meetings booked, deals closed, revenue generated). Take ownership of growing our revenue in the agency vertical and be accountable for results.
Qualifications
- 1–2 Years Sales Experience: Proven experience in a sales or business development role (any industry or sector). Tech or PR industry experience is not required – what matters is your ability to sell and your willingness to learn our domain.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’re confident pitching value over the phone or via email, and you listen well to understand client needs.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage a pipeline of leads and follow-ups without letting opportunities slip through the cracks. Familiarity with CRM software and keeping meticulous records of outreach is a strong bonus.
- Self-Starter Attitude: High level of motivation and initiative. You can independently drive the entire outreach process, from researching prospects to cold contacting and scheduling meetings, without daily direction.
- Resilience & Adaptability: A positive, tenacious attitude with the resilience to handle frequent rejection. You learn from each interaction and can iterate on your messaging and approach to improve results.
- Hungry to Grow: Genuine ambition and eagerness to accelerate your career in sales. You seek feedback, pursue improvement, and are excited by the prospect of taking on more responsibility as our company expands.
- Team Player: While you thrive independently, you also value collaboration and can work closely with a small team. You’re open to sharing insights and helping shape our startup’s sales playbook.
- Location: Must be based in the Greater Toronto Area (or willing to relocate). Able to commute to our Liberty Village office in Toronto for in-person work three days a week (with two days of remote work flexibility).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $40,000 – $60,000 per year (CAD), commensurate with your experience and skills.
- Commission: Lucrative commission structure with On-Target Earnings (OTE) of approximately 1–2× your base salary. Commissions are uncapped, so high performance can further increase your earnings.
- Equity: Stock options/equity participation in SearchEye – share in the upside and growth you help create. We want you to have a meaningful stake in the company’s success.
- Paid Time Off: Competitive vacation and paid holiday policy to ensure you have work-life balance and time to recharge.
- Health Benefits: No company-sponsored health/dental benefits at this stage of our startup. (We prioritize directing resources into growth and will revisit benefits as we scale.)
- Hybrid Work Environment: Flexible hybrid schedule – 3 days in-office for team collaboration, coaching, and camaraderie, and 2 days remote for focus work. Our modern office in Liberty Village is transit-accessible and surrounded by great food and culture.
- Career Growth: The opportunity to grow rapidly within the organization. As an early hire, you’ll gain exposure to all aspects of the business and can progress to senior roles (e.g. Senior AE, Sales Manager) as we expand. You’ll receive mentorship directly from the founders and seasoned advisors to accelerate your development.
