Summary

POSITION SCOPE


We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager with a solid background in executive search and recruitment. This role is responsible for expanding our client base across key U.S. markets and requires a proven ability to win and manage retained search engagements. The ideal candidate has experience in recruitment sales, client relationship management, and a deep understanding of senior-level hiring.


⚠️ Executive search and recruitment experience are essential. Candidates without direct experience in either will not be considered.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


Client Development & Retention:

Identify, engage, and secure partnerships with new clients needing C-level and senior executive talent. Build long-term, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders (CEOs, CHROs, Boards).

Drive business development initiatives


Recruitment & Search Strategy:

Work closely with internal recruiters and consultants to translate client needs into effective search strategies and delivery plans.


Sales Pipeline Management:

Manage and grow a sales pipeline of prospective clients, ensuring consistent outreach, follow-ups, and opportunity conversion.


Pitching & Proposals:

Create and present bespoke proposals for retained search assignments, aligned with each client’s hiring needs and organizational goals.


Collaboration:

Partner with research teams, recruiters, and delivery leads to ensure a seamless transition from pitch to project execution.


Market Insights:

Stay current on recruitment trends, executive hiring challenges, and industry developments to position the firm as a thought leader.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT:

  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in recruitment and/or executive search, ideally within a retained or senior-level hiring environment.
  • Demonstrated success in a business development, sales, or client relationship role within the recruitment industry.
  • Deep understanding of the executive recruitment lifecycle, client acquisition, and talent strategy.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage with senior executives and HR leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications in HR/recruitment are a plus.
  • Candidates must be based in Miami or Chicago



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Strong existing network in one or more of the target markets (Chicago, Miami).
  • Industry specialization in areas such as financial services, tech, healthcare, or industrials.
  • Experience in a boutique or global search firm environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and recruitment tech platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter).
