About the Role

We are seeking a technical-minded, customer-focused Sales Applications Engineer to support our growing sales team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving complex challenges, and has a strong understanding of machine vision lighting.

As a Sales Applications Engineer, you will be the bridge between our cutting-edge lighting solutions and our customers' needs. You’ll work closely with internal teams, channel partners, OEM’s and end users to provide technical expertise, application evaluations, and training.

What You’ll Be Doing

·        Evaluate customer needs and recommend tailored lighting solutions

·        Assist with project prioritization and manage application evaluations

·        Support channel partners and OEM’s in identifying the best solutions for their applications

·        Develop relationships with key accounts to uncover new opportunities

·        Conduct competitive research and provide market insights

·        Perform in-house lab work and on-site field testing

·        Represent SVL at major industry trade shows (including international travel)

·        Create and deliver engaging presentations and technical training sessions

·        Collaborate with Marketing to develop technical content (written and video)

·        Provide technical support to the Sales Team and assist with customer training

·        Advocate for the voice of the customer, contributing to new product ideas

What You Bring to the Table

·        2+ years of experience in machine vision applications, engineering, or sales

·        Strong knowledge of machine vision hardware, software, and lighting

·        Familiarity with vision software such as Cognex Vision Suite, Vimba X, GenICam, Zebra Aurora Suite, Halcon, etc.

·        Experience in technical sales is a plus

·        Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

·        Ability to handle customer issues tactfully and professionally

·        Excellent written communication and presentation skills

·        Willingness to travel up to 35%, including international travel

Education & Certifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field

·        CVP (Certified Vision Professional) certification within the first year (company-supported)

Your First Year at SVL

·        30 days – Get familiar with our products, problem-solve basic applications

·        90 days – Complete online courses, recommend SVL products for machine vision applications

·        120 days – Pass the basic CVP exam

·        1 year – Become Certified Vision Professional - Advanced
