Sales and Application Engineer
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for sales and technical support in the Industrial and Aerospace markets and is expected to identify customer technical issues in Bollhoff’s areas of competence. Provide solutions utilizing Bollhoff products and capabilities, assist in securing new production business for Bollhoff based on these solutions, and launch the new business in collaboration with Operations and other affected activities. This position also manages the overall technical interface with the customer on current production business. This position reports to the Director of Sales - Industry/Aerospace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop/maintain relationships with customer sales and engineering activities, using regular contact to identify customer issues that could benefit from Bollhoff solutions and to establish/maintain Bollhoff’s reputation as a key solution-provider for engineered fasteners in industrial and aerospace applications.
2. Provide technical support for Industrial and Aerospace sales team for activities required to maintain and grow business on assigned accounts, including development/validation of proposed solutions, assistance at customer presentations, participation in Technical Reviews and other activities required by the Industrial and Aerospace Sales and Customer Service team.
3. Lead interface with customer technical groups for program launches and engineering changes, including participation, coordination, and support of prototype build events and other key customer events.
4. Drive new programs and engineering changes through each launch milestone to meet objectives for profitability, timing and technical performance.
5. Develop and sustain technical expertise on the products and related applications to provide product recommendations. Maintain working knowledge and understanding of all Company products and their applications, manufacturing processes. In addition, maintain working knowledge of competitive product information.
6. Present professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Confidentiality and privileged information must be maintained.
7. Travel as necessary to customer locations, manufacturing plants, out-of-office sales meetings, trade shows or seminars.
8. All other duties as assigned.
9. Must be able to work extended hours when required.
10. Must adhere to all company policies and safety rules.

Education, Experience, and/or Skills Required for Consideration as a Candidate:
· Four years technical studies in engineering, in addition to a minimum of 3 years of direct automotive/industrial/aerospace engineering/program management experience.
· Knowledge of automotive industry APQP and PPAP requirements and Aerospace AS9100 related systems
· Knowledge of descriptive geometry/GD&T.
· Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills necessary for internal as well as external customer contact and presentations.
· Well organized with good time management skills to work independently. Demonstrated computer skills; Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
· Ability to travel as required to visit customers, suppliers, Bollhoff manufacturing facility. Expectation is 30% of the time.
Education, Experience, and/or Skills Preferred:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline.
· Knowledge/experience in composite materials
· Knowledge/experience in industrial application development
· CAD/CAE design/analysis capability preferred.
· Customer Relationship Management / Project Tracking
· Product Data Management (PDM) solutions competence (PDM Link preferred)
