Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Sales or Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in sales, outstanding communication skills, a background in science and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. The primary objective of this role is to drive revenue growth by identifying and closing sales/new business opportunities and cultivating lasting relationships with customers/clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and engage new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, referrals, and market research.
- Deliver persuasive, ROI-focused presentations and proposals that clearly articulate the company’s capabilities and address client needs.
- Present and promote company services in alignment with client needs and evolving industry trends as well as host on-site visits.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients to support sustained business growth.
- Lead contract negotiations and successfully close deals to meet or exceed established sales targets.
- Identify and capitalize on upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base to maximize revenue.
- Generate and qualify high-potential leads through various channels including email, phone, attendance at trade shows, inbound web inquiries, and networking events.
- Manage the full sales pipeline by tracking leads, ensuring timely follow-ups, and advancing prospects through the sales funnel.
- Consistently achieve or surpass sales goals, securing both new deals and long-term client commitments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth client onboarding, successful project execution, and ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client communications, and market trends using CRM tools.
- Meet daily metrics for calls, visits, quoting, purchase order collection as well as attend a weekly progress meeting
- Provide regular updates to management on sales performance, pipeline activity, and competitive market insights.
- Utilize social media and digital platforms to boost brand visibility and engage prospective clients.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to drive sales and revenue growth.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, or a technical field (preferred).
- CDMO/Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry experience of at least five years (preferred).
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or a related role.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Goal-oriented mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
