Sales Analyst, Best Buy/Target

Pay Range: $25-$32 per hour with optional benefits
Location: Hybrid in Edina, MN (4 days onsite, Fridays remote)
Work Hours: 8-5pm CST, M-F

Role Overview: The Sales Analyst, Best Buy/Target, is a critical contractor role with expectations covering a range of business areas including data aggregation, data analysis, launch preparations, supply chain review, and in-store execution. This person will be expected to be a key supporter in helping understand the market nationally and within Best Buy while providing analysis and guidance to help the company drive sales velocity and grow market share in the Monitor industry. The Sales Analyst needs to be comfortable working across many functions and in collaboration with different teams to help drive the company to our goals and deliver on management’s expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis:
- Weekly sell-through trends
- Weekly/Monthly market share
- Best Buy report card review and action planning
- Promotional roadmap pricing
- Finance:
- Price change system updates
- Price bulletin development and distribution
- Promo bulletin development and distribution
- PUMI submission for marketing programs
- Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates
- Supply Chain:
- Basic analysis of inventory positions
- Ability to provide ideas to help move old inventory
- Competitive Analysis:
- Deep understanding of competitors' products and corresponding pricing/promotional plans
- Ability to compare our company monitors vs. competitors to identify areas of weakness
- Understand promotional activities at other major retailers (COSTCO, Walmart, Sam’s Club)
- Event Planning:
- Support Sr. Sales Manager on all Best Buy events
- Build key meeting PowerPoint presentations
- Meeting preparation for executive meetings internal and external
- Budget management
- Product sample requests
- Day-to-Day Operations:
- Assist in day-to-day business operations with Best Buy for computer monitors
- Price shopping online to monitor market trends
- Watch competition online and analyze marketing tactics used by our company
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.)
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in sales or marketing
- Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas and pivot tables will be used daily)
- Familiarity with systems from Cisco, Systrex, and Samsung, focused on pricing and product roadmaps
- Experience in supporting (e.g., sales, customer support, supply chain) a product or technology in consumer electronics or B2B
- Basic knowledge of the retail electronics business
- Experience working in large, matrix organizations
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Advanced experience in public speaking
- Korean reading/writing/speaking is a plus
Preferred:
- Knowledge of retail
- Operations background, demand planning, forecasting, sales analyst, retail, or Best Buy experience
