SAGE is a student satellite team with the ambitious goal of launching the first CubeSat carrying human cells. The objective is to investigate how aging occurs differently in space compared to Earth. The team is dedicated to developing and testing a flight-ready spacecraft, learning about aerospace engineering along the way, and ultimately launching their contribution to space!
The Position – Embedded Testing Engineer
In this role, you will plan, develop, and execute tests for the in-house developed On-Board Computer or Communications System. You will work to ensure the system functions reliably and all the requirements are fulfilled.
Test Planning, Design, and Implementation: in collaboration with the OBC or COM team create a comprehensive test strategy, covering functional, integration, performance, and stress testing. You will also write software for test automation.
Test Execution: Running hands-on and automated tests to validate software and hardware.
Continuous Improvement: Refining the system based on test results and maintaining documentation.
What You Should Bring
Basic knowledge of C (to understand the flight software)
Knowledge of Python (the pytest framework will be used)
Motivation to learn on your own
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week
Team Commitment: at least two semesters
