SAGE is a student satellite team with the ambitious goal of launching the first CubeSat carrying human cells. The objective is to investigate how aging occurs differently in space compared to Earth. The team is dedicated to developing and testing a flight-ready spacecraft, learning about aerospace engineering along the way, and ultimately launching their contribution to space!
The Position – Embedded Software Engineer
The On-Board Computer and Communications System is developed in-house. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will:
Develop drivers for flight software, integrating external peripherals and subsystems.
Contribute to the amateur radio payload or SatNOGs communications module.
Work with C, FreeRTOS, and the STM32 HAL to implement and refine the satellite’s software.
Currently the flight software is being implemented, you will be working together with the other team members on the different tasks.
What You Should Bring

Embedded systems lecture (microcontroller architecture, peripherals)
Motivation to learn on your own
Ideal field of study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week
Team Commitment: at least two semesters
