Genesis Alkali mines and processes trona ore and manufactures soda ash that is used in the production of glass, detergents, chemical manufacturing, pulp and paper production, and water treatment. Position Title: Safety & Health Systems Administrator

Location: Green River, WY

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Safety and Health information systems
  • Safety & Health data management, tracking and reporting
  • Deliver EHS-related training
  • Safety supplies and services support
  • Maintain working knowledge of company safety systems and processes to address basic questions and direct more complex questions appropriately within the departments.


Activities:

  • Ensure organized retention and accessibility of company safety and health related records (hard copy and electronic)
  • Maintain MSHA citation database; prepare reports; validate vs. MSHA DRS; follow up as needed
  • Deliver training materials prepared by others (e.g., MSHA 24 hr new miner, Substance Abuse, etc)
  • Assist with and support other safety training (ART, Balmert, Save-a-back, etc)
  • Maintain recordkeeping and reporting systems related to injuries; follow up as needed
  • Prepare internal reports and regulatory required reports for review by Safety Manager
  • Track department spend vs. budget
  • Maintain department supplies; prepare purchase requisitions
  • Maintain SDS online database and CAPF records
  • Maintain calendar of required reports and other deadlines/ deliverables, including provision of advance preparation targets
  • Provide general support to Safety Department personnel
  • Effective interface and coordination with onsite medical staff and MHSC regarding workers comp and occupational health records
  • Support ESLT and other meeting/training preparation
  • Assists with implementation of other Safety initiatives
  • Other assignments as necessary to meet department goals and objectives.
  • Supports ISO 9000 efforts


Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements:

  • Desired associates degree in computer science or related field, or two years relevant experience with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • MSHA IS/IU instructor card preferred; if not in hand, a plan will be developed in order to obtain.
  • SAP/Oracle experience preferred
  • Microsoft Teams/Sharepoint experience preferred
