Roll Form Operator
Classification – Non-exempt
Salary Range - $17.00 - $20.00
Reports to – Senior Roll Form Operator
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are Midnights, Monday through Thursday 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. this position may require occasional overtime and weekend work as needed. Training for this position will be done on the dayshift for several months of work consisting of a Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule.
Job Description
Summary / Objective:
The Roll Form Operator is responsible for operating the roll forming machine to shape metal coils into specific profiles or shapes. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining roll forming equipment to produce parts that meet specified design standards.
Essential Functions:

· Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance on the machines to ensure smooth operation and prevent breakdowns.
· Identify and address any problems with the equipment, such as misalignment, defects, or malfunctions during the forming process.
· Regularly check the formed metal for defects, dimension accuracy, and overall quality, using measurement tools like calipers and micrometers.
· Ensure that the roll forming machine operates efficiently, producing parts that meet quality standards.
· Calibrate the machine for speed, tension, and forming parameters based on the product requirements.
· Place metal coils onto the machine, ensuring proper alignment.
· Adjust and install the necessary tools, dies, and rolls to achieve the desired shape.
· Document production metrics such as machine settings, part specifications, and quality control results.
· Ensure that the metal profiles meet all design specifications, including dimensions, finish, and other quality standards.
· Follow guidelines and best practices related to machine operation, safety, and manufacturing processes.
· Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols when operating machines and handling materials.
· Work with other machine operators, quality control teams, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and resolve any production issues.
· Communicate machine performance or quality issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel for resolution.
· Safely handle and load coils of metal into the machines.
· Check the incoming materials for any defects or damage that could affect the quality of the final product.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions, noise level in the work environment and job sited can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is continually active and requires constant standing, as well as walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds daily. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience:
· Required High School Diploma or GED
· 1+ years of industrial manufacturing experience.
· Ability to review, interpret, communicate, and execute work orders and instructions
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
· Ability to read and understand part prints and roll tooling prints
Preferred Education and Experience:
· 1+ years of roll form operation experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
· Previous production line experience
· Machine setup and troubleshooting experience
