Robot Programmer Robot Programmer Page 1 of 2 April 2025 TITLE: Robot Programmer BUSINESS UNIT: Service REPORTS TO: Service Manager FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt LOCATION: Schaumburg, IL REVISION DATE: 4/10/2025 SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welding Robot Programmer to join our Aftermarket team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, trouble shooting, and maintaining robotic welding systems to ensure high-quality and efficient production at customer site. This role involves close collaboration with CLOOS Service and Customer Production and Maintenance teams to optimize welding processes and support continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and modify robotic welding programs to meet production and quality requirements.
Set up, test, and troubleshoot CLOOS robotic welding equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to define program parameters.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on robotic systems.
Analyze welding defects and adjust programs or parameters to resolve issues.
Collaborate with welders, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to improve process performance.
Train operators and maintenance staff on proper robot usage and basic troubleshooting.
Document programming changes, welding procedures, and maintenance logs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
All other duties as assigned POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Welding Technology, Automation, Robotics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience / Abilities:
2+ years of experience programming and operating robotic welding systems.
Strong knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, etc.) and materials.
Proficiency in robot programming languages and software platforms
Requirements
This Role will be based in Decatur, IL for at least 6 months, but will also travel to Schaumburg, IL for training and additional travel may be required
