CayPlay Studios is hiring a Roblox Game Director to lead an original new title from the ground up. This is a high-ownership role where you'll drive vision, manage development, and help build a game that blends scavenging, chaos, trading, and social sandbox systems.

You’ll be responsible for turning ideas into systems, prototypes into products, and a team into a well-run machine. If you want to build something that stands out and treat it like it’s your own game, this is that opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Lead creative direction and define the gameplay experience
• Manage a team of scripters, modelers, designers, and artists
• Oversee the feature roadmap, task prioritization, and delivery timelines
• Build and refine game systems focused on replayability and virality
• Plan and coordinate live updates, events, and community feedback
• Work directly with the studio’s leadership team to align vision and execution
• Use systems like Trello or Notion to manage production and track progress
• Identify the roles and skillsets needed to build the game, then help source and evaluate talent

Qualifications

• Experience shipping or leading development on at least one Roblox game or major system
• Deep understanding of the Roblox platform, including game loops, monetization, and UGC trends
• Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing small teams or contractors
• Proficiency with project management tools like Trello, Notion, or similar
• Ability to scope and prioritize features based on resources and player impact
• Comfortable with Lua scripting or working closely with developers to review and guide technical decisions
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to operate independently without needing close supervision

Bonus Experience

• Live ops or simulator-style game design
• Managing contractors and cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with building scalable IP and community-focused systems
• Avid Roblox player with a strong understanding of platform trends, player behavior, and what makes games go viral
