Part of Cleveland Clinic Children's, the M40 Pediatric Stepdown Unit is dedicated to the care of children of all ages. This team focuses on treating patients with congenital heart disease and a variety of medical and surgical needs, including pre-heart transplant care. The dedicated and highly trained caregivers on this unit deliver world-class patient care through an intricate nursing care model that is rooted in evidence-based practice and always puts patients first. A caregiver in this position works Day/Night Rotation shifts, from 7am-7:30pm or 7:30pm-7am A caregiver who excels in this role will: * Provide direct nursing care. * Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. * Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. * Administer prescribed medications and treatments. * Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. * Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. * Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: * Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. * Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). * New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: * Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
