Our client, a well-established financial institution, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Risk Control Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day risk-related operations in the derivatives market, ensuring compliance with established rules, policies, and procedures.


The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Oversee risk-related activities in the derivatives market, including margin calls, risk parameter reviews, and default fund assessments.
  • Identify operational risks, streamline workflows, and implement corrective measures to enhance efficiency.
  • Address exceptions and escalate critical issues to the team head when necessary.
  • Mentor and supervise junior team members, providing guidance on risk management practices.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, offering insights into portfolio performance and market trends.
  • Manage night shift operations, ensuring seamless execution of risk control functions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving exceptions during after-hours trading sessions.
  • Serve as the risk control expert for new derivatives market projects, evaluating feasibility and refining procedures.


Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. Advanced certifications such as FRM or CFA are highly desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of derivatives market operations, risk controls, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in risk management or related functions within reputable financial institutions, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • A proactive mindset, capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical proficiency in MS Access, VBA, and Macros for data analysis and reporting.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken); Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including evenings and public holidays as needed.
