The clerk performs general customer service and retail related activities under the direction of the Manager of the Glass Door Gift Shop

Responsibilities
- 1. Greeting guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
- 2. Promote gift shop items and demonstrate knowledge of merchandise.
- 3. Perform Opening and Closing gift shop procedures.
- 4. Price, stock and display merchandise.
- 5. Responsible for ordering and maintaining candy inventory.
- 6. Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.
- 7. Maintain cleanliness of gift shop and merchandise.
- 8. Staff gift shop when volunteers are not available and/or manager is away to maintain daily operations of gift shop.
- 9. Support and train volunteers.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent requirement.
Experience
One year retail with customer service experience required.
Special Skills
Must have excellent customer service skills, an ability to work with a diverse volunteer population, must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Needs to be able to stand for long periods of time as well as lift up to 40 pounds.
