TITLE: Residential Program Manager

CLASSIFICATION:

Salaried Exempt

POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

Directly oversee assigned home(s) to ensure the quality of life of all individuals in the

program. Ensure all standards are met and provide support, supervision and

development to all assigned staff members. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of

the home(s), including on-call coverage. Constantly operates a computer and other office

productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). The person

in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets,

office machinery, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree or two (2) years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities along with one year supervisory experience preferred or experience in a health care facility. High School graduate with two (2) years’ experience in the health care field should be considered minimum. Experience/licenses/certifications needed. Valid Florida driver’s license and good driving record. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.

Supervises Direct Support Professionals

SPECIFIC TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hire, orient, train, supervise, schedule, develop and evaluate residential direct care staff to ensure ongoing provision of quality services in group home(s). Provide feedback to team members including but not limited to, ninety (90) day review, performance development plans and provide positive direction and intervention when necessary. Inspire and promote Duvall’s mission and vision. Maintain appropriate staffing ratio.

Ensure compliance with all applicable APD, Medicaid Waiver and all other funding sources rules, regulations, standards and guidelines. Participate in on-going internal management audits and external monitoring as scheduled.

Manage household and individual’s funds in an accountable and efficient manner. Maintain all required house and individual financial records according to standards.

Monitor the development, implementation and documentation of skills training (new skill acquisition and replacement behavior skills) including activities of daily living (ADLs) for individuals living in the residential programs. Ensure programs that enhance and increase resident’s independence and assess each individual’s progress for Support Plan purposes monthly, quarterly and annually.

Ensure established protocol is followed for all medication administration, self-administration, medication errors, disposal of medications, and response to medical emergencies, including the required documentation. Communicate with the pharmacy to ensure adequate supply of medication is in the home at all times.

Ensure that all routine and crisis medical/dental appointments, labs, etc. are made and documented to ensure quality of care for all residents.

Maintain a family home atmosphere and a positive interaction with residents, direct reports and co-workers and respect individual differences. Serve as a role model in the environment.

Ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment is maintained in the home. Monitor staff shift assignments for completion, assign deep cleaning duties as required. Complete maintenance requests promptly and communicate actively with supervisor about any areas of concern. Ensure that wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment are assessed daily for functionality and cleanliness.

Ensure the planning, purchasing and preparation of meals and snacks according to the approved menu, including special dietary needs. Monitor the substitution log for completion and that all substitutions are appropriate.

Plan, coordinate and ensure regular quality community inclusion and leisure activities for all residents. Ensure all residents are able to participate in preferred community activities as funds permit.

Ensure transportation is provided to individuals as scheduled and that agency vehicle standards are followed. Conduct monthly van audits to ensure safety and upkeep. Complete and submit all required documentation in a timely manner.

Monitor records to ensure that all staff supervised completes required in-service training and that all certifications/validations are current. Facilitate monthly staff meetings to ensure on-going staff development, communication among staff, continually increase quality programming and develop a positive team atmosphere.

Act as a liaison in the community with parents, guardians, Support Coordinators, APD representatives, other employers, physicians and develop positive working relationships with the individual’s circles of supports. Act as the primary facilitator of support services for the individuals served.

Ensure on-call coverage of the program 24 hours a day and seven days a week to ensure safety and rapid response to all emergency situations. Work weekends and other hours as needed to provide for consistent communication and supervision of staff.

Check Duvall email account each workday and respond to all communication promptly.

Follow and model all of Duvall Home Policies & Procedures and be able to teach them to others.
