Position Information
* 10 month position
Responsibilities
* Develops and supports development of processes, checklists and training materials for the residential team, with a focus on Residential Mentors
* Maintains/updates processes, procedures and associated materials
* Creates and implements training schedules for new hires
* Trains new Residential Mentors and some other members of the residential team (e.g. security)
* Monitors and tracks ongoing training, education and progress of all Residential Mentors
* Identifies individual and team skills gaps and supports plans to cure deficiencies
* Develops and supports development of training materials for annual Residential Mentor orientation and ongoing professional development courses
* Provides daily coaching on processes and procedures for all Residential Mentors. Includes dorm unit observations and documentation and review of results from the observation to facilitate continuous improvement of the residential team.
* Confers with management and supports development plans and/or corrective action when Residential Mentors are not meeting job requirements/standards
* Coaches Residential Mentors on mentoring students to help support student growth mentally, academically and socially
* Coordinates daily student club schedules and maintains accurate club rosters
* Plans, coordinates and supports special student activities that occur during residential time (i.e. health fairs, block parties, etc.)
* Communicates daily expectations and schedules to Residential Mentors
* Implement the boarding program with fidelity
* Support Residential Mentor communication with parents/families
* Set a positive example by being a role model for Residential Mentors and students
* Other duties as assigned
* Plan and implement programs and activities to do with students
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
* Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
* Experience in training and development and/or process development preferred
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Highly organized and deadline driven
* Able to effectively train different learning styles and connect with/motivate staff
* Willingness to work hard and with fidelity
* Intermediate technology skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (or similar)
* Prior experience working in schools and/or with teenagers is preferred
