Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer - Infrastructure to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our infrastructure projects division, you will be responsible for overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Monitor project progress and prepare detailed reports on work force, equipment, safety, and overall project status
- Conduct regular inspections of workmanship and materials to maintain quality control standards
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure project goals are met
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and change orders
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Oversee soil and materials testing according to contract specifications and local regulations
- Evaluate and process progress payments, variation orders, and time extension requests
- Implement and monitor site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local and international standards
- Prepare comprehensive monthly reports detailing project progress, challenges, and solutions
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement strategies for improving project efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent professional certification
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on managing large-scale projects
- Proven track record in overseeing complex infrastructure projects, including bridges and underpasses
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure development, construction methodologies, and quality control processes
- Familiarity with UAE construction standards, regulations, and local building codes
- Excellent project management skills, including budget and schedule management
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in project management software and CAD applications
- Experience working on infrastructure projects in the Middle East
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to work on-site and travel as required for project needs
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
