Job Description

Food Technologist/ Laboratory Technician to aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations

Responsibilities

• Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for Client food and beverage products
• Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes
• Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results
• Perform sensory testing of prototypes
• Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations
• Coordinate team evaluations on a regular basis
• Submit prototypes and samples for analytical testing and compile results
• Performing sample analysis after training on analytical equipment
• Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information
• Write progress reports
• Aid in maintenance of lab equipment
• Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies
• Ensure laboratory safety
  
  

Requirements

• B.S. in Food Science or similar field and minimum 2 years experience
• Laboratory experience from B.S degree coursework or work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good record-keeping and organization
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
