Summary

The successful candidate will play an essential role in ensuring that the Fondazione Telethon peer review process identifies the most promising research grant applications. Moreover, he/she will be engaged in the management of national and international programs and alliance initiatives involving researchers and patient organizations.


RESPONSABILITIES

  • Analyze the scientific content of grant applications and select the appropriate reviewers.
  • Participate in the organization and running of review sessions.
  • Manage relationships with Fondazione Telethon grantees and assess Fondazione Telethon’s research activities ex-post.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Scientific and layman’s language communication and writing skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent project management and organization skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Proficient in the use of standard office software


REQUIREMENTS

  • Scientific Degree; Ph.D. is required
  • Postdoctoral experience or equivalent is required
  • Previous experience in biomedical research and a broad knowledge of human genetics are essential.
  • Previous experience in a funding agency or other peer-review processes will be considered a strong plus.
  • Experience with grant writing and management will be considered a plus.
  • Experience in working in an international context is desirable
