Summary

Position HighlightsThe Research Program Coordinator is responsible for management and efficient operation for all research projects and activities in the ARID Lab. The position manages project deliverable quality and timelines, manage the various lab systems including administrative processes, internal lab-generated projects, space, supplies and lab events.

This Research Program Coordinator is responsible for communication overall project status with lab principal investigators and ensure adherence to university and funder requirements through maintenance and execution of internal processes. This position applies their expertise in employee management to motivate staff, ensure accountability and propose incentives to enhance productivity. They may also participate in other duties and responsibilities, as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist in monitoring grant-funded research projects to ensure adherence to established scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with research staff to identify potential issues early and assist in facilitating timely resolution with appropriate guidance.
  • Support collaboration with the Pediatrics Finance Department to help ensure proper tracking and allocation of funds across assigned grants and research projects.
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of laboratory procedures, resources, and tools in coordination with research staff and under the guidance of Principal Investigators (PIs).
  • Review, and summarize special reports and data; assist in identifying trends and preparing summaries for presentations.
  • Develop, implement and monitor detailed project plans including timelines, resource requirements, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Track expenses for research projects to ensure they align with grant requirements and institutional policies, proactively resolving financial discrepancies in collaboration with financial teams.
  • Oversee the execution of activities related to finance, compliance, communications, outreach, and other operational functions to ensure smooth program implementation.
  • Provide expertise in the preparation and review of contracts, grant applications, and human subjects approval documents, ensuring all necessary regulatory and institutional approvals are obtained.
  • Ensure the communication and adherence to relevant policies, regulations, and ethical guidelines across all aspects of the research program.
  • Monitor compliance and develop standard operating procedures to incorporate new requirements.
  • Collect and analyze data related to the research programs and write up evaluation reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure maintenance of mandatory trainings, agreement and certifications.
  • Review and approval of contract and IRB submissions.
  • Responsible for supervision of multiple research project staff and students, including performance management.
  • Use effective communication skills (written, interpersonal, presentation and listening), to provide feedback and work closely with laboratory staff on research projects.
  • Participate in planning of all logistics related to laboratory-wide meetings, recruitment, and data collection events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
