Description
The mission of the Steven Strauss and Lise Wilson Cardiomyopathy Center is to improve the lives of people with cardiomyopathy by restoring health and well-being to those with heart failure - both from the local community and around the world providing outstanding and holistic care. The Strauss Center strives in developing critical insights into the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiomyopathy. While educating the future generation of clinicians and scientists with a commitment to providing a diverse and inclusive environment for them and our allied health providers.
The Research Program Administrator's primary responsibilities involve working side by side with the Director of the Strauss Center on operational activities for a research program such as: helping identify growth opportunities to expand clinical-research reach and increase Center’s national awareness, recommend changes to achieve Center’s goals, short- and long-term planning and serving as liaison representing the program.
Experienced professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems / issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.
Administers all finance, human resources and facilities and other operational activities for small to mid-sized academic or research program. Administers major program components, and some or all of the program's operational requirements. Develops and organizes conferences and other public forums. Works under direction of Principal Investigator or more senior Academic Program Officer to establish center agenda, funding, objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Six years of related experience, education/training, OR an Advanced degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training
- Academic background and experience in selected area of research preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
- Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
- Solid fundraising experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
