Job Description And Duties
Under general supervision of the Research Manager Il in the Research, Evaluation and Data Insights Division, the Research Data Analyst ll will research and perform complex data and statistical analysis on a wide range of treatment facility areas, including, but not limited to, patient referral data, pending placement trends, patient admission and discharge data, patient length of stay, patient demographics, and facility bed capacity/utilization reporting. The incumbent will collect, compile, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data; identify trends and anomalies; research and summarize findings with narrative and summary tables; validate data inputs and point potential adjustments; prepare and present technical reports to management. The research and data collection functions of this unit are used to provide regular reporting of program data to support the Department objectives and proposals, formulate data driven responses to external entities, and to assist in special projects within the Division and Department. All research projects require regular collaboration and coordination with Sacramento-based staff, facility-based staff, county partners, and external stakeholders.
Minimum QualificationsExperience:
Either I
One year of data research, collection, analysis and reporting experience performing the duties of a class with a level of responsibility equivalent to Research Data Analyst I, Range C;
orII
Three years of progressively responsible technical quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including but not limited to researching, identifying patterns and trends in historical data, as well as data model creation experience. (Experience applied toward this pattern must include at least one year of research data analysis experience performing duties with a level of responsibility equivalent to Research Data Analyst I, Range C.)
Education
Incumbents must possess 12 semester or 18 quarter units course work in any combination of a data driven research-related field, such as economics, mathematics, psychology, sociology, demography, geography, anthropology, statistics, data science or a research-related field. This must include at least one course in statistical methods;
and
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree. Work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis by applicants who have the required units mentioned above.
This limited term position may be extended up to 24 months and has the possibility of becoming permanent.
