This intern position will be responsible for delivering on assignments from BC's experienced engineering team. Detailed Description: As an Environmental Engineering intern, you can expect your experience to include the following: * Work closely with project manager and other team members to execute work involving conventional types of civil, environmental, and/or mechanical engineering principles and other related activities for water and wastewater treatment conveyance projects. * Assist with the preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, presentations, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents. * Perform data entry, analysis, and visualization. * Provide engineering services during construction. * Participate in field work, as needed for projects. Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time. * Adhere to Brown and Caldwell's quality assurance/quality control process. Work schedule and location: Fully remote at the employees discretion. In office accommodations are possible if desired. Desired Skills and Experience: To qualify for an internship, you must be enrolled in a full-time program (minimum nine credit hours per semester) seeking a degree in engineering, science, geology, or a related field. You also must be in good standing and carry an overall GPA of at least 3.0 in your core curriculum, as well as a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. What Must Our Candidate Have? (Required) * Provide bullet points for your minimum requirements to qualify for this role. * Exactly what we're measuring - specific experience, specific majors, etc. * B.S. degree in Civil, Chemical, Sanitary, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering required; MS degree preferred. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents * Understanding of regulatory compliance and permitting * Strong project or task management skills * Excellent technical writing and communication skills required. * Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint is required. * Valid driver's license and good driving record may be required What Will Our Ideal Candidate Look Like? (Preferred) * Working understanding of biosolids high-temperature processes. * Experience evaluating per- and polyfluoralkyl fluorinated substance (PFAS) fate in environmental and engineered systems. * Peer-reviewed published authored in scientific or engineering journals. Salary Range: The hourly pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
