Summary



Portfolio Research Analyst


The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing excellent investment research that supports portfolio management for a dedicated group of investors, and will be the centre of a servicing ‘gold standard’. The key areas will cover all aspects of investment research which will incorporate investment analysis, risk analysis and reporting.


A brief description of responsibilities as follows:


● Provide high quality research to support the Client Advisers (RM) to provide excellent advice to high net worth clients & investors, maintaining a high standard of quality in all work and output


● Partnering Client, Business Support and Third-Party Service Providers to ensure relevant product access as well as competitive pricing for clients


● Review gaps in portfolios with respect to risk profiles


● Provide market updates to the team, prepare reports related to the portfolios, as well as specific product performance


● Prepare investment reviews and periodic portfolio reviews, which include portfolio rebalancing and asset allocation calibration


● Responsible for the operation and maintenance of any in-house funds and portfolios


● Develop strong understanding of the client services function. While this is not a day to day responsibility, complete understanding of client services function is critical for the incumbent to succeed in this role

Personal and Social


Must be a strong team player and possess excellent inter-personal skills, with an ability to integrate quickly into an established team and communicate closely with team members, and be able to present research articulately.


The incumbent will be expected to show initiative, be assertive and highly independent in their work. Strong communication skills, a highly pleasant demeanour, the ability to take on responsibility and ownership are must haves.


Professional and Technical


Min 5 years of relevant experience from research in wealth management or private banking functions.


Sound knowledge of banking products and services including investment products such as mutual funds, equities, bonds, ETF’s and treasury products. Proficiency with financial tools such as Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel required. Knowledge in VBA preferred but not necessary.


A keen interest in the regional wealth management industry


  • The incumbent must have strong analytical, written and spoken English skills. Relevant banking &/or finance qualifications will be highly regarded.
