Job Description

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for managing customer accounts, processing orders, and supporting outside sales efforts to drive business growth. This role requires a proactive, customer-focused individual who can manage multiple priorities, resolve issues efficiently, and build strong relationships with both customers and internal teams. The Inside Sales Representative serves as a key point of contact for day-to-day inquiries and transactional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts, handling inquiries, quoting, order entry, and status updates.
  • Accurately process and manage customer orders in the ERP system from order entry through to delivery and invoicing.
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations, Purchasing, and Logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and product availability; coordinate with purchasing to meet customer needs.
  • Respond to customer issues, delivery concerns, and quality complaints with urgency and professionalism.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives with account follow-ups, quote preparation, and lead tracking.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and proactively communicate price changes, product updates, and delivery timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products and services.
  • Track key performance metrics and assist in achieving sales targets.
  • Stay informed of market trends, competitor activity, and Samuel product offerings.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an inside sales or customer service role, preferably in the metals, manufacturing, or industrial distribution sectors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, AS400) is an asset.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a customer-first mindset.
