Job Summary: We are looking for a Reporting Engineer to support the Accounting and Finance department in designing, building, and maintaining accounting and financial reporting using Python, Google BigQuery, and SSRS. You will be responsible for working with IT and Accounting in building complex functions and stored procedures or jobs to support accounting processes and end user reporting. This role is ideal for someone with experience in SQL programming and working knowledge of financial basics. Responsibilities: * Work closely with the data engineers, Accounting and Finance teams to build and support accounting processes, reporting and analytics needs. * Design, develop, and test reports in multiple formats using Google BigQuery, Python, SSRS, Alteryx, Dash, etc. * Update and maintain existing reports based on changing business needs and growth. * Review and verify financial data to ensure it is accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. * Interpret financial information to identify trends, variances, and potential issues. * Automate accounting and reporting processes for consistency and accuracy of stakeholder view. * Examples of accounting processes supported are revenue/cash journal entries and mapping, incentive calculations, and payment transactions. * Partner with Accounting/Finance and BI staff to identify and fix real time issues. * Support / Monitor daily and monthly financial close system processes and reconciliations. * Stay up to date with the latest reporting, data engineering trends and cloud technologies. * Collaborate with internal controls and external auditor teams as needed to ensure that data solutions are compliant with internal controls requirements and best practices. Requirements: * 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field. * Proficient SQL and Python skills and understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) * Experience designing scalable ELT data pipelines in cloud environments. * Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (Airflow or similar). * Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices. Preferred Skills: * Experience with accounting and finance data. * Experience with Reporting and data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, Dash, or similar) * Knowledge of data observability and monitoring tools. Annual Salary: $95,000-$125,000/year with a generous benefits package that includes paid time off, health, dental, vision, and 401(k) savings plan with match.
