We are looking for a technical writer/knowledge base developer, assistant (part time, by request) who will write help information content to the existing system. Technical Writer Job Responsibilities Writes about technical subjects for technical and nontechnical audiences Tests and updates existing documentation Constantly updates in-house style guide Creates screenshot markups Writes, edits, and updates User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) copy Creates scripts for video tutorials Creates and builds out user assistance infrastructure, including how-to sections, FAQs, and Help sections Updates, edits, and proofreads written materials such as product manuals, user manuals, how-to guides, and FAQs Works closely with subject matter experts, engineers, developers, and product marketing team Collects user reviews to determine areas of documentation that need revision and updating Works with tech lead to write articles for non-specialist readers Technical Writer Qualifications/Skills Ability to write user-friendly, engaging copy about highly technical subjects Ability to understand and accurately translate technical information for a general audience Basic knowledge of coding and scripting languages, such as Python and JavaScript Facility with documentation publishing software, such as Sphinx (readthedocs.io), Confluence, GitHub Readme, Wikis Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail Ability to effectively use of analytics to improve user-facing content and applicant programming interface (API) Education, Experience & Licence Requirements Experience with product development, including past use of product development software Portfolio of technical writing samples for review Strong written communication skills 2-3 years of technical writing experience Bachelor of Arts in English, writing, communications, curriculum development, or software/computer engineering Master of Arts in technical writing is a plus Scientific publishing experience a plus Join our team to build a successful digital career.
