We are a 30+ year successful California based IT VAR (value added reseller). We are searching for a strong Systems/Network Engineer to join our team ASAP! MUST currently be located in the greater Sacramento, CA area. As an IT Consultant, you’ll work directly with clients to assess needs, deploy solutions, and provide support as needed across various platforms including various on-premises IT infrastructures, Microsoft 365 and Azure / EntraID, and other cloud platforms and services. This is a hands-on role with a mix of project delivery, client advisory, and technical problem-solving.

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Deploy and configure Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
• Perform and lead email migrations (Exchange, Google Workspace, IMAP → Microsoft 365)
• Deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade Windows Server environments (2016–2025), and related infrastructure services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS).
• Implement and troubleshoot Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), hybrid environments, SSO/federation setups, etc.
• Deploy Microsoft Intune for endpoint and mobile device management (MDM)
• Deploy and configure network devices such as firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, HPE Aruba, Cisco, SonicWall, etc.) and other core network components (switches, routers, APs, VPNs)
• Participate in network assessments, security reviews, and infrastructure upgrades

Must-Have Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure or consulting roles
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 deployment and administration (Exchange, Teams, compliance, etc.)
• Solid experience with Azure/Entra ID tenant configuration and management
• Solid Windows Server experience, including AD, DHCP, DNS, and GPOs
• Endpoint management experience with Microsoft Intune
• Experience deploying MFA, conditional access, and security hardening
• Proficiency with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, subnets, routing, VLANs)
• Excellent client communication skills and ability to document work clearly

Highly desirable skills include:

• Certifications: Microsoft 365, Azure Administrator, Network+, or similar
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Axcient, Veeam)
• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, batch) for automation
• Microsoft Copilot experience
• Microsoft Power BI
• Experience with firewalls and secure remote access (e.g., VPNs, RDP gateways)
• Previous MSP or IT consulting experience
• Familiarity with RMM or PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Autotask)
