Description

Seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and provide customization of various applications to meet organizational requirements in support of a government division with a mission to equip law enforcement, national security, and intelligence community partners with criminal justice information. The Software Engineer will support the client's mission and use various programming languages and possibly machine and assembly languages in development.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical enterprise applications throughout the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.
  • Design, develop, and standardize APIs (with a focus on RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL API architectures) while adhering to API security principles and API management platforms.
  • Design and implement cloud-based applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
  • Build and optimize front-end applications delivering responsive and user-friendly interfaces tailored to business needs.
  • Manage version control, development workflows, and CI/CD pipelines using Atlassian tools like Bitbucket and Jira to enable rapid, dependable deployments.
  • Conduct rigorous unit testing, integration testing, and automated deployment processes to ensure application quality, reliability, and security compliance.
  • Perform ongoing application maintenance, including monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, and implementing patches and security updates.
  • Develop and maintain databases within an application environment, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval for large-scale applications.
  • Design, customize, and optimize software solutions to enhance operational efficiency, integrating third-party components and automating maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, participate in architecture reviews, and deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively, across teams, to drive key initiatives.
  • Adapt to organizational policies and priorities.
  • Follow SAFe Agile principles and practices, including iterative development, continuous delivery, and collaboration.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing, and standardizing APIs, with a focus on RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL API
  • In-depth knowledge of API security principles (e.g., OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect) and industry standards for secure API development and
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development with a strong background in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms, with proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or Golang.
  • Experience with API management tools such as AWS API Gateway, including the ability to define and enforce API standards for large-scale enterprise
  • Demonstrated 2 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders, and driving the adoption of API standards across diverse teams and systems in a large
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, preferred.
  • Top-Secret clearance is required.
