Senior Tax Manager - Remote or Hybrid in California
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to lead our tax department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, planning, and reporting, while ensuring that our organization adheres to all federal, state, and international tax laws. This role is ideal for someone for someone who has experience building and developing a client base, and wants to continue that path on their road to becoming a Partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns for federal, state, and international jurisdictions.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize opportunities for the company.
- Lead the tax compliance process, ensuring all tax filings are accurate and submitted on time.
- Provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions and transactions.
- Conduct research on tax issues and stay updated on changes in tax regulations and laws.
- Review and manage tax audits, working closely with auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Advise on international tax matters and support global expansion efforts.
- Train and mentor junior tax staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management or related roles.
- Experience building and developing a client base (Business Development).
- Experience with S-Corp and High-Net-Worth tax compliance.
- International Tax experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
