United States | Direct-Hire | $140,000-$165,000 | Fully Remote

Konik is partnering with an engineering client that is looking to add a Process and Project Engineer to their growing team. We are looking for a technically driven Process & Project Engineer with deep expertise in gas turbine systems and catalyst systems to lead the early-stage engineering, process design, and proposal support for emissions control and acoustical products. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, estimating, design, and engineering teams to shape customized solutions for clients in the power and energy sector.

You will be instrumental in developing system layouts, process specifications, and technical documentation for a wide range of turbine-related components such as catalyst systems, exhaust stacks, silencing packages, diverter dampers, and thermal/acoustical enclosures.

Position Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the front-end engineering design and conceptual development of emissions control and acoustical systems for gas turbines.
  • Analyze customer specifications and site conditions to guide equipment sizing, configuration, and cost estimation efforts.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed technical proposals, including scope definitions, performance criteria, and exception lists.
  • Evaluate and finalize the design of catalyst systems, including flow modeling, pressure drop analysis, and equipment selection.
  • Generate and review data sheets in coordination with internal departments—Sales, I&C, Estimating, Drafting, and Engineering.
  • Source and assess quotations for auxiliary system components, including fans, skids, silencers, catalyst media, and control elements.
  • Serve as the internal technical point of contact during proposal development and project execution phases.
  • Support system commissioning, site inspections, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable codes, emissions standards, and internal quality guidelines.
  • Participate in customer review meetings, vendor coordination calls, and product improvement initiatives.
  • Provide input into R&D activities to enhance the performance, reliability, and value of the company’s product lines.
  • Travel occasionally (as project needs dictate) to client sites for reviews, testing, or field validation.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with exposure to fluid dynamics, acoustics, and emissions systems.
  • 10–20+ years of professional experience, preferably involving gas turbine exhaust, SCR/CO catalysts, and noise mitigation technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of:
    • Exhaust system pressure dynamics
    • Catalyst sizing and thermal limitations
    • Acoustic attenuation principles for turbine equipment
    • Environmental emissions controls and compliance criteria
  • Advanced Excel skills required (including use of formulas and data analysis tools).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visual Basic, and CFD modeling is beneficial—willingness to learn CFD is strongly encouraged.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, time management, and technical communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage clients, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage shifting project demands.

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • Vacation & Flex Days
  • 401k with employer contribution
  • Cell phone, internet, and office assistance allowances
  • Bonus
