Summary


Title: Sr. Linux Engineer
Location: REMOTE, Franklin, TN
Compensation: 60/hr
Employment Type: Contract to Hire (6months)
Must Have experience:
· 5+ years experience as a Linux Engineer or similar role.
· Expertise in Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.
· Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
· Strong understanding of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
· Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, AHV, KVM)
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Key Responsibilities:
· Design, deploy, and maintain Linux systems and servers in production and development environments.
· Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
· Develop and implement security measures to protect Linux systems from vulnerabilities and threats.
· Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
· Collaborate with network engineers and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux systems.
· Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups to maintain system integrity.
· Optimize system performance through tuning and capacity planning.
· Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
· Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior team members.
