Summary
Position Overview:
We seek a highly skilled and motivated LMS (Learning Management System) Lead Tester to join our team. The LMS Lead Test Engineer will be responsible for the testing process of our Learning Management System, ensuring that the platform functions as expected and meets high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Strategy: Develop detailed test plans and test cases and define test strategies that align with business goals and requirements.
Functional Testing: Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for all LMS features and integrations.
Defect Management: Track and report defects using a defect management tool. Work closely with developers and project managers to resolve issues promptly.
Test Environments: Ensure that the LMS is tested across various environments, including different browsers, devices, and operating systems, to ensure compatibility and a seamless user experience.
Performance and Security Testing: Identify potential performance bottlenecks, conduct load testing, and ensure that security best practices are adhered to within the LMS.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, Senior Leadership, and instructional designers, to understand requirements and provide feedback during the development and maintenance phases.
Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for testing procedures, test results, and defect logs. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders and Senior Leadership.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices in LMS testing and quality assurance, recommending and implementing process improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in testing learning management systems or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, test planning, and test case creation.
Experience in leading a team of testers and mentoring junior staff.
Hands-on experience with test management and defect-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Quality Center).
Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and databases (SQL).
Ability to conduct performance and security testing, identifying vulnerabilities and areas for optimization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
Experience with SCORM, xAPI, AICC, or other eLearning standards.
Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, TalentLMS, Schoox, etc.).
Experience in mobile testing for LMS compatibility.
