Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, and deploy web applications using ESRI’s ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise platforms.
  • Publish and manage web services for statewide GIS initiatives.
  • Conduct spatial analysis and generate reports to support decision-making.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to internal staff.
  • Integrate and transform data using Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), including FME Form and FME Flow for workflow automation.
  • Develop web maps using VertiGIS Studio and Inline.
  • Create data visualizations and insights using Tableau.
  • Implement and support ESRI’s Roads and Highways Linear Referencing System.
  • Administer and optimize ArcGIS software and hardware infrastructure.
  • Handle and process vector and raster datasets for various GIS applications.
  • Support and enhance business systems related to transportation, pavement, traffic monitoring, construction, and asset management.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro (usage and software development).
  • Backend programming in C++ and Python; front-end development in JavaScript.
  • Experience configuring, integrating, and optimizing GIS systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based GIS platform deployment and automation.

Desirable (Not Mandatory) Skills

  • Experience with PMGs HPMS/SLD Manager for highway data management.
  • Familiarity with VertiGIS Studio for ESRI platform enhancement.
  • Understanding of Transportation Business Systems and Linear Referencing Methods.
  • Experience with Tableau for GIS data visualization.

Project Scope

  • Support major statewide highway construction and parcel update projects.
  • Assist in the rollout of a new cloud-based ESRI ArcGIS and VertiGIS Studio platform by 2029.
  • Enable staff to manage geographic data, perform map modifications, and create analytical mapping visualizations.

Interview Process

  • Two-step MS Teams video interviews with State HR and GIS Technical Team.
  • Final technical interview with State CIO, including a C++, Python, and JavaScript coding exercise in ArcGIS.

Additional Notes

  • No government clearance required.
  • Anticipated team expansion of 80+ new GIS hires by June 2025.
