Summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Cloud Network Engineer to support a remote high-impact Azure cloud infrastructure team. The Cloud Network Engineer will bring a strong background in data center and infrastructure operations, with hands-on experience in cloud networking, security configurations, and infrastructure as code. This is a fully remote position supporting a multi-thousand end-user environment focused on operations and maintenance (O&M). Responsibilities: * Support and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including networking and security configurations. * Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, including port routing and traffic management. * Develop and maintain Terraform scripts for provisioning and managing cloud services. * Collaborate with vulnerability management teams to support STIG compliance, IAVM remediation, and access control configurations. * Provide scripting support for automation and infrastructure tasks. * Manage load balancing, traffic routing, and hardware configurations (Palo Alto, some Cisco). * Respond to and resolve support tickets, ensuring SLA compliance and effective troubleshooting. * Work closely with a small, agile team to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master's with 2+ years). * Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services. * Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management. * Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including port-level security and routing. * Solid understanding of cloud security principles, DoD STIGs, and IAVM processes. * Familiarity with EKS clusters and containerized environments. * Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell). * Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting. * Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Treasury Public Trust security clearance (8-12 week process) Preferred Background: * Experience in data center or infrastructure operations. * Prior exposure to supporting Azure teams in a cloud-first environment. * Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and Terraform-based deployments. * Experience managing security configurations, access controls, and vulnerability remediation workflows. Candidate Disqualifiers: * Lack of hands-on experience with Terraform. * Weak understanding of security configurations (e.g., port usage, access control). * Poor communication skills or inability to articulate technical concepts clearly. Compensation: * Salary Range: $70,000- $85,000/ year * Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays * Work Environment: 100% remote * Must be eligible to work in the United States and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Treasury Public Trust security clearance and pass a thorough tax investigation (8-12 weeks).
