Certified Professional Coder Qualifications: All potential candidates must have strong communication, organizational and analytical skills. CPC or CCS credential required. In depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS level II coding required. Possess knowledge of medical terminology and Evaluation & Management (E&M) documentation requirements. Multi-specialty coding experience preferred. Surgical coding experience preferred. Responsibilities: ? Conduct coding audits of medical records checking for missing and/or incorrect documentation. ? Identify claims errors, vulnerability, and compliance risk to include, but not limited to, missing/improper coding. ? Review medical record documentation to ensure clinicians and medical staff are practicing within their credential/scope. ? Ability to code for many different specialties as assigned. Provides cross coverage in the department as needed and directed by the Coding and Compliance Manger/ Billing Director. ? Upon identifying any coding, billing, documentation, and/or system issues, immediately notifies the Coding and Compliance Manager/Billing Director. ? Maintains working knowledge of CPT, ICD10, HCPCS coding guidelines, government regulations, and third-party requirements regarding billing and coding. Schedule: 1. 8-hour day shift 2.
