Job Summary

The incumbent will be expected to learn the Analytics system and manage the preparation of new/changed functionality to be included in each release of the functionality into production. The incumbent will be expected to understand and contribute to the design of the overall Analytics system. The incumbent will manage, mentor, coach and provide leadership to the Analytics team responsible for building, managing and supporting the Analytics systems. Plan, organize and implement complex, high-profile projects. Partner with various stakeholders both within and outside of Analytics to promote open lines of communication about the contents of each production release.

Job Roles And Responsibilities

  • Help determine functionality to be included in a release, prioritize the release work and ensure completion of the functionality by the set release date.
  • Communicate with the developers and testers responsible for release activity to ensure work is being completed on time.
  • Help resolve any issues that arise during development and test including the ability to perform complex queries that pinpoint the issues.
  • Meet with the team on a regular basis to review work lists and obtain/provide regular status reports.
  • Understand how fraud, waste and abuse is identified with claims data. Be able to work with the research team to create business and system requirements that identify fraud, waste and abuse in health care claims data. Also be able to query claims data to help identify issues in the claims data that could become rules in the system.
  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects.
  • Initiate, plan, execute, control and close project activities.
  • Help develop work plans for each subproject/team and prepare summary for management review.
  • Execute and maintain project plans; review, track, monitor and report on project status; identify, track and resolve issues by proposing viable solutions.
  • Calculate, mitigate and monitor risk, creating contingency plans and advising management, as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain working relationship with all departments, stakeholders and external customers involved with project.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate release support staff to ensure the efficient operation of department.
  • Collaborate, coordinate and communicate across disciplines and departments.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrate Company's Core Competencies and values held within.

Job Scope

The incumbent plays a critical role within the organization and the individual is required to work independently, provide leadership, and make decisions with respect to Analytics systems analysis, design, development, and testing. Work is varied and complex, requiring the individual to use a broad range of project management and technical knowledge gained through extensive experience. The position works with internal groups and external vendors to complete objectives. The incumbent leads and mentors individuals and provides input to performance assessments. This is a people management job with authority for all HR actions (hiring, firing, discipline, training, etc.).

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, And Training)

  • Minimum Bachelors' degree in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience with at least 3 years management experience related to software development.
  • Experience with documented software development methodology and understanding of all stages of software development project life cycle required.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare industry and understanding all major workflows associated with healthcare claim processing preferred.
  • Knowledge of broad range project methodologies and best practices for requirements definition and management including Waterfall, Iterative, Agile and SDLC.
  • Knowledge of current technologies and trends required.
  • Management, problem solving/troubleshooting, communication (verbal, written and listening), interpersonal, presentation, issue resolution, organization, teamwork and motivation skills.
  • Ability to quickly attain and understand new processes with strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines, work on multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work at the highest technical level on all phases of software systems programming applications.
  • Ability to be organized, self-motivated, and work in team environment.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, direct and motivate people; and to serve as an example to others.
  • Ability to challenge individuals to discover the root cause of an issue.
  • Ability to apply principles, techniques and best practices in the planning, organizing and implementation of high-profile projects that are complex and not always clearly defined.
  • Ability to use software, hardware, and peripheral related to job responsibilities, including MS Office and software development applications.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $150K to $160K. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
