West Fraser is creating a new Qualified Reliability Tech certification program. Successful applicants will enter the program at the Apprentice Level and will be required to complete required coursework to advance to Reliability Tech 2, 3 and Qualified Reliability Tech.  West Fraser will cover all costs of training and tools. The Reliability Tech position will report to the Reliability Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

• Administer the predictive portion of the reliability program: Vibration, Ultrasound, Thermography, and Machine Lubrication Program
• Become the subject matter experts with the following maintenance standards: alignment, hydraulics, fasteners, for example, and assist where directed to instill the practices in the field
• Acquire a good understanding of RCFAs and assist as required

Qualifications to enter the program:

• Pass the Mechanical Reasoning Assessment (CMRA) with a minimum score of 21.
• Must have demonstrated good attendance, safety and work record
• Be a self-starter
• Work independently and as a member of cross-functional teams consisting of maintenance, operations, quality control, safety, environmental and administration
• Ability to commit to and successfully complete a 3 year training programs
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively train others
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to meet business need

Qualifications to continue in the program:

• Complete non-certification courses virtually, on-site or off-site as required; travel may be required.  Course examples are:  Condition Monitoring Fundamentals, Lubrication Best Practices, Root Cause Failure Analysis
• Complete certification courses virtually, on-site or off-site as required:  travel may be required  Course examples are:  Vibration Category 1, 2 and 3, Ultrasound 1, Machine Lubrication Technology 1, Infrared 1 and 2.  Other certification courses may also be added to this curriculum.
• Stay current in all aspects of reliability technology after initial competency is achieved
• Work proficiently in Maximo or other CMMS systems
