West Fraser is creating a new Qualified Reliability Tech certification program. Successful applicants will enter the program at the Apprentice Level and will be required to complete required coursework to advance to Reliability Tech 2, 3 and Qualified Reliability Tech. West Fraser will cover all costs of training and tools. The Reliability Tech position will report to the Maintenance Superintendent or Reliability Engineer.

 

The position is located at the Augusta, GA sawmill operation. 

Required skills and experience include:

  • Broad maintenance experience in a sawmill environment
  • Assist with development and maintenance of reliability procedures / program
  • Assist in maintenance support for production departments
  • Experience with Vibration analysis, Infrared detection, Ultrasonic testing, Temperature analysis, Lubrications analysis
  • Become the subject matter experts with the following maintenance standards: alignment, hydraulics, fasteners, for example, and assist where directed to instill the practices in the field
  • Acquire a good understanding of RCFAs and assist as required
  • Team building and motivational skills
  • Develop solution to chronic repetitive failures
  • Assist with management maintenance budget
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Manage and oversee parts and maintenance programs and inventory
  • Math and reading comprehension skills
  • Two- or Four-year college degree preferred

Other:

  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check
